Legendary real estate NY Times columnist, author and attorney Robert Bruss just reviewed and ranked Kendra's new book "Risk and Grow Rich" a perfect 10.  http://www.goapply.com/tools/mortgagenewsindividual.aspx?articleid=52166

Even John T. Reed raves about Bob Bruss, and I've read his excellent legal manual for CA agents, so I respect his opinion.

However, I'd like to hear from anyone who's read the book if it's really as good as Bruss says, because Kendra is doing a training workshop this Thur evening at SOCALCIA and I want to know what others think.

Smooth way to plug our meeting Bro,  while offering some value to this board as well  . . .

Yes,  I would like to know too.

I think that whole Trump show is pretty lame  ( but then again I think almost all tv is lame ),  but to win his game and be smart enough to get a book on the market and hit the speaking circuit,  this lady is likely pretty sharp.

And I know just how picky Bruss is after reading his reviews  ( although I sometimes disagree with them )  for  7  years now,  so this is likely a quality book.

Looking forward to it  . . .

I respect Bob Bruss and his knowledge of RE, but his "pickiness" I can't buy...He almost ALWAYS gives a book a 10, even after finding errors in it--and often will give a book a 12 (on a scale of 1 to 10?)!  So that means all his "10's" are really "8's" in a way...

Wow.  I didn't know that.  Well, perhaps not everyone gets a 10.  I just nocticed Bruss was VERY harsh in 2004 on the new revised version of How to Buy and Sell Apartment Buildings and ranks it an "Ultra-Low 3" and said it should never have been published. (I'll bet this is one with which Samson disagrees.)

I was not very impressed with the book either.  It seemed he was more interested in pitching TICs than teaching individuals the "how-to's" of investing in Multi-Unit Buildings.  I think he could learn a few things from Dave Lindahl in that regard!

I've not read Kendras book, but I'm sure it will have some good stuff in it, as well as some Apprentice stuff in it. As a Developer in Florida during it's hey-day run, she made millions, and I hope that She gives equal credit to being in the right place at the right time.  THAT is a skill in itself

BTW ..... Thursday night, keep an eye on Young Skywalker.  I heard he likes "Older" Women!

Just b/c Reed recommends Bruss as a guru, doesn't mean he also recommends the books Bruss gives good reviews.

Yes Bruss seems to give most books high ratings.

There's a good Q&A with John T. Reed in this months issue of Money Magazine.

John T. Reed also puts down Ron Legrand and Kiyosaki and many others I respect, so that doesn't mean much.

Bruss seems like a nice guy, but I've read a lot of his stuff, and it's extremely basic and a lot of it is geared towards not investors but just homeowners in general. The investment articles Bruss writes are more focused on the first time investor or someone that owns 1 rental property close to where he lives.

I used to get his email newsletters but found that none of it applied to the type of investing I was doing so I cancelled it.

That was my point.  Bruss is ultra conservative like Reed,  so he must have seen value in Todd's book from that point of view.

I don't read Bruss as much anymore,  it would be interesting to have a chart of his reviews,  then we could gauge what a  "10"  really means.

Back when I used to read him every week he gave few  10's,  maybe he has since sold out,  it wouldn't be the first guy  . . .
