Hi. I know it's kinda out of topic but is it advisable to have credit union auto loan than banks?  When I was still single I loaned from a bank.  Now I'm loaning for my daughter who's graduation soon.  Suggestions?

I have not tried a credit union but perhaps it could be better because personally, I had a bad experience about getting a loan in banks.

Thanks for the responses. I have had a not so good experience with a bank regarding a personal loan a couple of years ago. The stress is unimaginable, so I consider having a credit union auto loans instead but I am still weighing my options. Any loan can be stressful, that I am sure of.

Credit union appear to be the better source for auto loans. The premise is that credit unions are members owned and not motivated by return of investment to stockholders. The members reaping the benefits of mutual ownership. At one time the credit unions use be exclusive but most now only require a nominal deposit to become a member. On auto loans, a rate differential of .25% to .50% is only nominal shopping for the best rate doesn't behoove you for the time spent. Take your best newspaper ad with auto rates and have  the F&I person at the auto dealership match it with their financing source.

Credit Union's process is comparatively faster and hassle-free. Do not keep second thoughts, just go for it!
