Anyone willing to share trends in marketing results / conversions?

I've noticed for a while, a downtrend, over all, but my referrals are relatively steady.

Javipa,
Are you familiar with Micheal Quarles? He is pretty open with is results with direct marketing.  He is a service provider but a pretty open book when it comes to ad copy, lists he mails to and results. Anyhow, he might have insights that are helpfull.

I'm just curious to hear what other marketers are experiencing.

I am pitched every shiny-object marketing gimmick known to mankind.  Ones that promise to dump thousand of dollars in my lap, if I just sign up for "Joe Blow's" continuity training.  Well, I already have enough experience and success to keep myself busy, but there's always an ebb and flow, and I'm attempting to deny that from affecting my pipeline with 'something' solid and reliable.

Kaihacker, thanks for the tip on Quarles.  I'm familiar with him.  He was one of the early adopters of 'yellow letters.'  FWIW  I don't need more shiny objects like that.

Another reason I ask, is that one of the chronic, negative pieces of feedback I get, is the variable response rates (read here as low) in using direct mail.  I always say that there's a lot of influences that affect response rates, not the least of which is market sentiment, market conditions, the latest news, or a perceived crisis, while in the meantime, solid suspects ripen anyway, and the consistent DM'rs are the ones picking up the fruit as it drops from the tree.

But never mind the response rates.
Of course, the money is in the conversions, not the responses.  Responses can get pretty slim, but the conversions that come from those are solid.  For example, by the time, the motivated suspects become familiar with our marketing, and trust us more, they also become as flexible as three-hundred dollar strippers.

I'm just trying to find more ways to attract "flexible strippers."

Javipa,

I personally despise commercials. They drive me nuts.

I have no cable but have a little antena to get local news tv.

But I use my big screen tv, that was confisicated by a bad non paying renter (tenant) so I can

reduce usage of lite bulbs so that SDGE does not rape me via my electric bill.

I like 1070 news radio because I think they offer 7 minute traffic updates

(human kind) (rare these days)

Anyways, I have been doing some marketing and it has been going well.

I am not spending much money either, just thinking outside the box.

I want to ask you guys about timing the CA RE MArket with a new model.

Not a sales pitch. Not looking for money.

Just a neat idea and one could run with it and take off making a neat bundle. I will want a small slice and will offer financing.

PM me if interested or curious!!!
