Do you mean one of the ones that is chock-full of "slamming, libel, slander, or mean spirited posts" in contravention of this board's rules?

Perhaps those threads should be relocated to politics-centric blogs somewhere else.

Discussions regarding politics and policy are relevant and useful, but when those discussions deteriorate into little more than specious personal attacks (against politicians left and right, posters, and others), then the board suffers and many of the most interesting posters drift away.

Whoever started the thread had also the ability to delete it. Maybe that was done, either intentionally or unintentionally.

While investigating Petraeus, the FBI stumbled upon the thread that shall not be mentioned. Seeing as how the administration is in cover up mode, the thread got zapped.

That was a popular topic, maybe Greg has an explanation.

What "Libel, slander, or mean spirited"? There were multiple items of evidence for all conclusions, but not everyone cared to read the evidence. Differences of opinion aren't mean-spirited, just differences. What is "slamming", successful defense of ideas you think incorrect? If so all you had to do was join in the discussion and point out the error.

Perhaps those threads should be relocated to politics-centric blogs somewhere else.

In this case the notion of private property is under attack by the left. Private property is an anathema to the Left and they are taking great strides against it. Private property is the basis for the SDCIA.

Discussions regarding politics and policy are relevant and useful, but when those discussions deteriorate into little more than specious personal attacks (against politicians left and right, posters, and others),

There were few if any personal attacks, and there was much evidence for criticisms of public figures and conflicting philosophies. Valid, evidence based criticism is the essence of free speech. Something that is being arbitrarily limited by someone --- is it you?

then the board suffers and many of the most interesting posters drift away.

There were many posters to the thread, it was growing everyday as shown by the view count, everyone knew the topic and contributed.

The posters did not drift away but now they have been forced away by a mystery person for an undisclosed reason.

If someone found an objection they could have stated it, if some unspecified rules of etiquette were violated then the moderator could have simply made a comment.

Why should anyone have the power to arbitrarily shut down free discussion of a topic of strong interest to many members without warning or reason?

I sent a private message to Greg at the same time this thread was posted. No answer so far.

Paul -- perhaps but I think the sensitive topic is the voting fraud.

I want the person who did this to explain why. Not just to me but the hundred or so people who regularly read and posted to our popular thread. Any one who had an objection was free to post it. But why step on everyones' free speech just to stop some perceived personal attack or dislike? We are adults, not tender children.

This kind of autocratic action only reinforces the evidence and criticisms clearly brought out in our group discussion.

Allen West was running for Congress in one of the over 100% voter participation Florida counties. He is a staunch Conservative advocate of private property rights.

This is the latest from his campaign manager:

There has been a lot of misinformation out there about the state of the race, and not surprisingly the local press is dutifully parroting the talking points coming out of Patrick Murphy’s campaign proclaiming the race decided, so here’s the truth: this race remains far from decided.

Today the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections, after promising to recount all early votes, counted only ballots from the last three days of early voting, netting Allen West over 500 votes.  The problem is those aren’t the first three days of early votingthe days the Supervisor of Elections originally said were compromised by faulty data cards in the machines.

We will continue to fight for a recount of all early votes.  In addition, we will ensure that the public is able to view the poll book sign-ins to ensure the number of early votes cast match the numbers of voters who checked-in to vote.

Nothing coming out of Supervisor of Elections Gertrude Walker’s office adds up, stories are constantly changing, and the hostile attitude of the Supervisor is disturbing.  What originally looked like dangerous incompetence is looking more and more like a willful attempt to steal an election.

We will not allow a Democrat Supervisor of Elections to steal this election.  We will pursue every legal means available to ensure a fair an accurate election.

I know you have stood with Allen every step of the way for the past four years and I know you will continue to stand with us as we fight liberal efforts to steal this election.  Your efforts in Palm Beach County and St. Lucie County protecting the integrity of the election have been tremendous these past few days.

Campaign Manager

There is developing evidence that over participation and multiple voting have occurred in the San Diego contests too. This is a national problem, Chicago politics have become local to everyone.

This is happening across the country. Remember Donald Trumps' comment in our Lost Thread, the election was a "total sham".

BREAKING: Massive Voter Fraud in St. Lucie County, Florida

On Tuesday only one precinct had less than 113% turnout. “The Unofficial vote count is 175,554 registered voters 247,713 vote cards cast (141.10% ). The National SEAL Museum, a St. Lucie county polling place, had 158.85% voter turn out, the highest in the county.”

The Supervisor of Elections, Gertrude Walker, had this to say concerning the 141% voter turnout: “They may have had something like that in Palm Beach County, but we’ve never seen that here.”

So maybe Allen West wasn’t crazy to ask for a lock-down on the ballot boxes and machines in this county. According to the report given the day after elections, Allen B. West garnered 52,625 votes in St.Lucie county and Patrick Murphy 65,896 votes.

This is a problem that must be addressed right away. There is no reason that there should ever be more than 100% turnout. This county alone could have cost Allen West his election. Voter fraud is real, and it is time that this be solved.

JC,

Based on my experience, it is likely that the OP deleted it, but then again, the administrator could do it too. Although I wasn't happy with the outcome of the election, I agree with SFL that that thread doesn't belong to the SDCIA discussion. This is a real estate forum, politic might turn off some readers. With that said, it's time to blow up this thread too.

Cheers.

I don't appreciate spending time reading here, and commenting, just to have the entire body of it deleted.  If this was a thread that violated rules, or was off track, it needed to have been removed immediately, not randomly after months of participation.  Please restore the thread, even if only as a frozen archive, please.

FROM ZERO HEDGE:

“Obama’s winning tactic was to do what any respectable man does when he wishes to have something; he bought it. From cell phones and contraceptives to food stamps and unemployment benefits, the Obama administration kept the money flowing to ensure a steady turnout on Election Day. The coup de grâce was painting his opponent as a second coming of Dickens’ Scrooge that was ready to cut the voters from their trust funds. The campaign made no attempt to hide this tactic.”

Abdenour --- I have no evidence this was the reason the unknown person removed the thread. Do you know for certain that this was the reason?

What if others disagree with your opinion Minh? No one was required to read the thread, but many did. Haven't most of the members already given their opinion by regular reading and posting to the thread?

Deleting threads is pretty silly and authoritarian. If someone doesn't like a thread, simple solution is don't read it.

JC,

This is a real estate forum, the administrator can delete it as he sees fit. The OP can also delete it if he wants to. It's beyond our control. Just let it be. Everything happens for a reason.

Trust me on this. We will not experience hyperinflation in our lifetime.

I thought you'd like that.

This IS real estate related. The election of Obama has a huge impact on the real estate industry. I can tell you for one, that my entire real estate outlook depended on the outcome of this election.

This sounds like the typical liberal left wing reaction -- if you don't like the message, censor it, vilify the messenger -- better yet, slander him as a racist and a bigot.

Well said JohnnyCash.

That thread had over 14,000 views. I'd say that people were interested in the impact of the election on real estate. What about freedom of speech? What is this? Communist Russia? Are we there yet?
Those who are not interested in the thread, need not participate or read it.....that's called freedom.

I recovered the 22nd page of the lost thread. The other 21 or 22 pages are classified for now. Maybe when a Republican President gets elected 36 years from now (according to Carville's 2009 book, the Democrats will dominate the politics for 40 years), you can ask him to declassify them.

Nice find. I couldn't get it on the Wayback Machine.

Looks like Robert B was the OP and he hasn't posted since November 2. Maybe he had a knock on his door in the middle of the night, sort of like the guy who got brownshirted off for making that anti Islam video the administration used as an excuse for its failed foreign policy.
