According to the article, Richmond landlords:

"file about three eviction cases for every 10 renter households, or 10 times the rate in Los Angeles County."

This seems like an odd statistic---few people would consider Richmond to be on a par with really poor and undesireable cities like Detroit, etc.

States like Indiana and Michigan were also cited as having some of the highest rates.   And they also stated that evictions in the Southeast are particularly high.  It mentions that the author of recent book Evicted is in the process of doing a more definitive study.

The next time someone argues that out of state rentals have great returns----It's another factor you should consider.
